Launch price Rs 21.93 lakhs for Mercedes Benz A Class India!

Mercedes Benz launched the new A Class in India earlier today for an introductory price of Rs. 21.93 lakhs for the A 180 CDI Style diesel model and Rs. 22.73 lakhs for the A 180 Sport petrol model. You have read it correctly, diesel A Class is priced lower than petrol A Class.

2013 A Class is the smallest car in the Mercedes Benz line-up today, and after proving itself in Europe, where it got over 90,000 bookings within a few months of its launch, it is here in India as the largest and most luxurios hatchback.

For the petrol A Class, it is powered by the 1595 cc four cylinder engine that generates 122 hp @ 5000 rpm and 200 Nm torque @ 1250-4000 rpm. It has a top speed of 202 kmph and does a 0-100 kmph in 9.2 seconds. It delivers a mileage of 16+ kmpl.

The diesel A Class gets the same 2143 cc four cylinder mill seen on the C Class, but down-tuned to deliver 109 hp @ 3200-4600 rpm and 250 Nm torque @ 1400-2800 rpm. This one has a top speed of 190 kmph and does 0-100 kmph in 10.6 seconds. This one delivers 20.06 kmpl. For more information on the A Class, have a look at the media release below.

UPDATE: In India, A Class does not have a competitor, but if we consider brand and price, it will compete with the Audi Q3. This was evident when Audi India Head, Michael Perschke tweeted the following earlier today, “Here is the big question of the day? Why buy an #AClass @23L as petrol when you can get a #Q3 2.0 Tdi with 177 bhp Diesel quattro power @27L.” We too have the same question for you. 2014 Corvette Stingray rated at 461 PS and 460 lb-ft

Chevrolet’s new 2014 Corvette Stingray is a lightweight sports car as it comes in with a new aluminum frame. Fitted with a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 engine with direct injection and Variable Valve Transmission, the Corvette is being offered with Active Fuel Management thus making it more powerful and highly efficient as compared to its predecessor. It does a 0-97 kmph in less than 4 seconds, and offers a mileage of 11.11 kmpl on the highway. Lightweight materials are seen in its carbon fiber hood, fenders,doors and rear quarter panels besides carbon nano composite under body panels thereby contributing to an equitable 50:50 weight distribution. Its engine is mated to a new seven speed manual transmission with Active rev Match while drivers can select from five position drive modes depending on driving conditions and environment. for the 2014 Corvette Stingray Coupe and $56,995 for the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible, the interiors will sport eight inch infotainment screens with Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment System and rear vision camera. It will also be seen with Bose 9 speaker audio system with Sirius XM radio, Bluetooth connectivity and USB and SD Card.

Well, The title-holder of the one and only Maybach Exelero is Dr. André Action Diakité Jackson, who purchased the car for $7.8 million in 2005. Since that time, Mechatronik GMBH was retained to globally market and transport the vehicle. Jackson unveiled the vehicle publicly after granting his (rapper friend) Jay-Z permission to drive the supercar in the "Lost One" music video in 2006. After 5 years, Jackson decided to put the the Exelero up for sale in May 2011 for $8 million to another rapper, Bryan "Birdman" Williams. As of May 2012, "Birdman" has yet to disburse any funds or take delivery of a Maybach Exelero.
